Met Jack about 1985 in the boatyard in Sausalito. My favorite story about Jack was sometime around 2010 or 2011 Jack pulled into Sausalito one day and we saw each other, so he stopped to say howdy. He had just driven down from his place up in Tomales Bay. We talked a little about the usual suspects: friends and boats. He mentioned that earlier in the morning some reporter had showed up at his place to interview him about the Grammy Award he had just received. Then all of sudden he said "Oh shit," "I showed that chick my Grammy Award record while we were talkin out by the old truck and I think I left it sittin there on the front fender. I gotta go see if its still there!" Tires spit gravel and he turned a donut right away, and sped outta there. I think it was right where he left it.
