Singer/songwriter and working cowboy Gail Steiger shares stories and memories about his grandfather Gail Gardner. Gail Gardner is one of the classic cowboy poets and he is best known for writing the poem/song "The Sierry Petes," also known as "Tying Knots in the Devil's Tail."

    It's funny how the laws on ownership for the cattle are similar world over. I grew up listening to the Chris Ledoux version as a kid. So tell Gail if you're talking him that his granddad's poem got right across the world. I think this podcast rivals my previous favorite R.W. Hampton's.
